Memorial Day

Hey Everyone,
Hope your having a great Memorial day. We had a pretty solid week here. The lake is getting pretty full now that it is summer time. This little town is getting pretty busy. We got in a lot of service this week and had a few good morning runs. We also had a few really good visits with a part member family. It just feels good to be out and working hard.  We had a dinner this week with a rich family. They just got back from a 4 month world cruise.  $$$$$$ dang we got a tour of their house/mansion and all of their expensive stuff. They have a bunch of collector edition games, Monopoly, Dominos... and a few others that have solid gold and silver pieces and super fancy wood boards and stands. Tons of expensive paintings and sculptures. Tons of money
We also had dinner with our Ward Mission leader one day and he showed us how to make a fire with a hand drill and the bow drill. I got both of them to work which was pretty cool. He's quite the mountain man/ survivalist. Really awesome guy to work with.
Well I still love being a missionary and being here on the lake. (even though I can't have any fun with it, it is a great area.)
I think thats all for me
Love ya all,

Another Beautiful Monday

Hey everyone - I'm going to have to apologize for not getting an email out last week. We spent the day doing leather work making scripture cases (pictures soon to come) so I will try to give a brief overview of this week and last week. Last week was a really full week and we got a lot done. We saw a couple of new people and a few less actives that we hadn't been to in a while. On wednesday we had interviews with President and Sister Loveland and that was really good. I always love being around them; they are just awesome people.
We had a few dinners with part member families and they went really well. One of them we had smoked brisket that was waay good. I also got to shoot a bow (pretty sure that's approved?)  It was a fun week and also one of our best for stats.
This week was probably even better. We had the most lessons since I have been here and just had some really good appointments. We started running with our ward mission leader every morning. We ran along the lake near the church a couple times about 2 miles and then the past couple days we have been running over Sailboat bridge which is almost 2 miles.  It is pretty fun to run across the lake and watch the sunrise. The only problem is the incline of the bridge, gets a good burn going. On Wednesday we had district meeting and then went to Wendy's for lunch. We had to bring the truck in to Firestone for maintenance. Seth was glad to see us again. haha. We were there with a few other missionaries and had a couple people come up and talk to us which was fun. Although it is kind of sad when the Firestone guys "say see you soon" when you leave. Thursday we got to go out with Stake members and we made a lot of good visits. On Sunday we had Ward conference so we got to hear from the Stake president and bishop. It was a good Sunday. In class we got called out to recite "My Mission Commission" and luckily we didn't mess up.
I am really enjoying the work here in this area and I also get to stay for another transfer! I always so happy even when I'm exhausted. I have definitely been able to experience the "living water" and it just fills me up. I love the Lord and the great work I am a part of.
Love and miss you all,

Train Whistle

Hey Everybody,
We have had a pretty good week here in Grove, and Mothers day was great too. Gotta love being able to talk to your family.
So the guy sitting next to me in the library has a train whistle as his ringtone and it is very distracting. But anyways I'm doing well. I'm again blown away that another month has passed and I'm now at 7 Months. Time just keeps flying by.
Well we had a pretty interesting week. We had a ton of good stuff set up but it felt like everything we tried to do fell apart. On Tuesday we went to go do some service with a member and his truck broke down so we had to wait for a ride and get everything sorted out.  Wednesday we went to go do service again but that failed as well. But we at least ended up spending time with a less active guy that needed some help. and got dinner out of it as well.  Thursday we had our planning and then a lunch with an older family and a questionable dinner later. Friday we had a really good zone training meeting in Bentonville. We had some really good presentations. That night we had dinner with the Evans our recent converts. Right after dinner we got about half a mile from their house and got a flat tire so we got to change a tire in the dark, on a dirt road, in a suit. We are getting pretty good at changing the tires now after number 3. And the guys at the shop know us pretty well too.
So Saturday we went to Bentonville to do service and get the tire fixed. It was a really nice day so it was fun to be out working. we also got to spend some time at the Bentonville Film Festival. They were giving out a bunch of free food so that was our lunch. Sunday we had lunch with an awesome family and then went to dinner. After dinner we got to call home for mothers day.
Also this week we had a less active that wanted to do family history and committed to meet us at the church to do it and both times bailed. We weren't very happy with him. But i guess better luck next time.
So this week ended up being a lot of eating and a lot of car problems haha.
Still getting the work done though.
Love you all and have a great week!

The Lake

This was a pretty solid week. had a lot of good teaching and some crazy weather to keep us on hour toes. We had a couple of tornado warnings and a ton of rain but besides that the weather has been pretty decent.
The Evans family is doing well and we are starting their new member lessons. they really enjoy church and are just progressing so well.
We have also had a few good lessons with Jeannie. She has quit smoking and broke up with her boyfriend in jail. And she has really started to have a desire to learn more and be a better person. She really enjoys reading the Book of Mormon. Hopefully she starts making steps towards baptism.
We also started teaching a girl in a part member family. She is really excited to get baptized and is eager to learn. The only problem is that they are busy pretty much 24/7 so it is tough to make an appointment.
Jack is a super old guy that lives around the corner from us and the missionaries have been seeing for a while. He usually isn't very interested in church stuff but this week we invited him to church and he said that he would come.
We have had some good visits with the less active families and really enjoy spending time with them.
Yesterday Sister Loveland and her son Neil came to visit us. they came with us to a few appointment and brought us dinner. It was really fun to kind of show off our area and all the great things about Grove.
I always love how after a slow week of teaching the next week is awesome. I guess that is opposition in all things though. I'm still loving the mission and it feels crazy that I'm coming up on 7 months and that i get to call home next week
Love you all and wish you the best!
